IN A FEW WORDS
After exploring her artistic skillset. Danielle found a secret passion for playwrighting. In 2017 she wrote her first public children's theatre work The 5ft Giant which debuted at The Cairns Children's Festival where it was seen by over 750 children and their families.
In 2019 she was accepted into Carclew and Country Arts SA scriptwriting program, Writing Place where she worked closely with Mentors such as Emily Steel, Caleb Lewis and Maryanne Butler. And has since had her work "I Need Gourmet" published through Currency Press.
She was also a playwright as a part of ATYP's Fresh Ink Program 2020, where she produced 2 original short plays, which you can sample below.
In 2021 she has been successfully accepted as a playwright through Brownsmart Theatre's "Build Up" program where she is creating a brand new, full length theatre production.

I once heard it said that ‘actors are simply the vessels to be filled by the words of writers’. Having a background in theatre and performance, I was not all that impressed to hear my function simplified so much. I have always respected writers for their linguistic skills, but I had never fully appreciated just how much goes into their craft. Until, that is, I was selected for Writing Place, 2019....
